WW2 Japanese patches?

Can anybody tell me if either of these two patches are Japanese military from WWII?

I've never seen either one of these in my years of collecting Japanese, but that doesn't mean they didn't exist.

Thanks for your expertise, the on the right, looks Japanese but I guess it could be from another Asian country as well, or not even military related. Just wanted to be sure.
