Don Posted January 8 #1 Posted January 8 Just purchased this. This is the earliest photo postcard I have of Hitler. Hand written date on the back 6/6/31. Has anyone seen a postcard like this?
spielhahnjaeger Posted January 10 #2 Posted January 10 Interesting shot! Haven't seen this one before and I handle postcards quite a bit. Can you show us the back? Curious about any info re: photographer or publisher.
Don Posted January 11 Author #3 Posted January 11 There is no publisher/photographer printing in the back. Just something hand written in German that I cannot read. Then handwritten date 6/6/31.
Marshallj Posted January 12 #4 Posted January 12 Interesting because it is not a very flattering image of him.
Don Posted January 12 Author #5 Posted January 12 Yes. I noticed that too. Pretty boring. But then again, being very early he didn't have full power at the time so he wasn't gloating as much?

spielhahnjaeger Posted Monday at 08:38 PM #8 Posted Monday at 08:38 PM A little hard to see - a scan would be better. First word is definitely "Aufnahme," which in this case refers to the picture, then either "von" (by) or "vor" (in front of) and then either a last name or a place. The script is a bit unusual for the period - more Latin than Kurrent.
Don Posted Monday at 10:16 PM Author #9 Posted Monday at 10:16 PM I don't have a way to scan it. Thanks for trying though. It looks like "von".
