banderse Posted April 15 #1 Posted April 15 Got from very legit place. Description said “some staining”. Does this look like blood? Don’t want to ruin it by putting something on it in a test. Thnx in advance.
Marshallj Posted April 15 #4 Posted April 15 How is it attached? I don’t see any stitches in the fabric.
Brad Smardo Posted April 19 #6 Posted April 19 Looks like rust, put a blacklight on it and see if it glows, body fluids will flouress

Marshallj Posted May 19 #9 Posted May 19 The eagle seems like it is oddly placed. Nowhere near the pocket.
daskrieg Posted May 19 #10 Posted May 19 Could be a panzerwrap or waffenrock eagle. To me it looks good

Preppy Picker Posted May 19 #12 Posted May 19 The material looks like the type used on the government issued parade dress uniform.
banderse Posted June 14 Author #13 Posted June 14 Purchased from Gettysburg Museum which I trust. They noted the staining implying blood on front IMO. The marks on the back look like rust but the stains on front are not. Also if it were parade worn, wouldn’t that not make sense being a cutoff? Cutoffs usually taken as war trophies during battle as far as I know.
S.ChrisKelly Posted June 14 #14 Posted June 14 Posts #1, #3 & #5 are images that look like an authentic, genuine piece of a German army tunic, with an early - issue BeVo eagle. Brown stains are literally rust, possibly from storage or "hard water". The tunic in image #9 looks fake. I'd guess it's a reproduction M42 tunic. The eagle is definitely a reproduction, one of the better embroidered reproductions. The collar litzen, not folded and attached properly, and removable shoulder strap are dead giveaways.

The cutoff being authentic you mean? I know Gettysburg Museum is very trustworthy. Also are the cutoffs usually from dead soldiers? I read they usually are. “Original WWII German Army (Heer) NCO/OFFICER’S BREAST EAGLE. (Hoheitsabzeichen) Flatwire CUT OFF OF UNIFORM Certified” This is how it was listed before I bought.
