Hi Folks:  Recently picked up this 1939 dated French mess kit and I’d like to identify the manufacturer.  What manufacturer is this hallmark?  Thank you,

I picked up another example of this Colonial sword at the Oklahoma City Military show over the weekend.  My new sword has a few slight differences to my early sword shown above.     My new sword has the same double fullered plated IOD style blade but without a maker mark.  The scabbard is the earlier style that is nickel plated with two suspension rings which indicates wear prior to circa 1909 or thereabouts.  The brass hilt is more or less the same with the  large Imperial eagle facing to its left.  The pommel does not have an Imperial crown and was made without one unlike the one shown above.  The grip is sharkskin instead of celluloid.  This sharkskin grip has the more angular crown of the Emperor along with the W II cypher.     I was happy to find this sword as they are very scarce items.

Nice find!  Bill is quite right about the frog.  These are usually quite damaged and aged.

A few photos to keep the thread alive.  These came from a Volkspolizei photo album.  Can you spot the interesting bits?     I will start out by pointing out the beer drinking boys and the seated fellow is wearing his sports badge on his left breast pocket instead of on his right side pocket.

I have not encountered a brace like this before.  Sorry I can't help.

For "WehrMike95"...   That display cabinet is awesome! Dining room?  Wow.  That is super extra awesome!  Did you buy the cabinet "off the rack", or have it custom built? I see the light in the top of the interior.  Nice touch.

Thanks Danimal.  It looked good to me, but I know there are alot of fakes.  I just wasn't sure because of the code.  I researched the internet for a couple of hours trying to find that code with no luck. Maybe it is a rare manufacturer of some sort.

Hello, I can't help with the code.  But I see no reason to think this is a repo.  I have noticed a trend of Eastern front 'water' or 'bunker' relics making their way west.  I picked up what looks like a water find potato masher just a few months back and the condition looks similar to yours.  The one I picked up was cheap and looks good in a display without spending big bucks.  Wartime 'souvenired' potato mashers are just crazy prices.

Nice collection and nice displays.  Looks nice in that cabinet.  I really like the push plate.  I snoozed on one I saw several months ago for sale.  I got sidetracked at a show and the dealer left by the time I remembered...  they are pretty scarce...
