The details are explained from the right.   ・【 消防局】 → " Fire Department" ・【第 分団第 号】 → " Squad , No. " ・【氏名 ??? 】 → "Name ??? " ・【 謹製】 → "Made by "   The ink on the name and etc were too faint to read. This fire helmet was probably used as shown in the photo on this website.   The photo shows a professional firefighter, so this may not be strictly accurate.   https://www.city.kyoto.lg.jp/shobo/page/0000159144.html https://www.city.kyoto.lg.jp/shobo/page/0000159275.html https://www.city.kyoto.lg.jp/shobo/page/0000159280.html

I gather not too common to find here in the US. Picked these up at a shop in Munich earlier this year. All relate to the same man - and include his youth org ID, union membership, military ID and even a 1990 passport to round out the set. Interestingly, also a couple of East German beer labels were found in one of the IDs.    Nothing singularly special in the bunch - but together, a neat group!

Well done, and not something you see every day.    Scott

Fantastic piece, and I would imagine pretty scarce.   As a side note to your write up, the Hutu's are estimated to have killed upwards of 1 million in that short period using mostly small arms and machetes. On a mathematical level, arguably more efficient than the concentration camps of WWII. On a moral level, simply appalling...    Scott

Sadly, that was the only markings I could see. One character is better than no character anyways.  Thank you for looking! mikie

Any uniform pieces anyone has? Would love to see them! Tunics, smocks, German, Japanese, British, French Indochina?

Hi Mikie, all I can read is this single character which looks like the number five, it's not much but I hope it's a start. Are there any other marks or writing?                   Bill

Just bought this. Has Auroara stamp in Russian of the keel of the pipe the Auroara was a Russian cruiser built before WW1. When a museum was reorganized in Russia, they sold off some of their stuff in the 1990's was what I was told by the seller. Why I am afraid to donate my stuff to a museum. So, guess this is WW1

Beret of the Rwandan Government Forces, worn during the Rwandan war of 1994.  After the Presidents of Rwanda and Burundi were killed in a rocket attack on the aircraft they were travelling in, this triggered several weeks of systematic and large scale massacres.
