Great looking helmet! I'd love to see the inside if you have pics : ) -

I think this may be costume jewelry. There are similar types with Red enamel and white enamel. Search EBAY: "White Red & Blue Key Enamel Shield Maltese Cross Pendant Vintage 15 in Necklace" Just my thoughts Leigh -

All I know is that I've had this medal for between forty-five and fifty years. I can't remember how or where I got it. (Is it even a real medal, or is it "costume jewelry?) -

Not a fan of the chicken wire. This in my opinion was added post war as the appearance of the condition of the wire does not match the aging of the helmet. Chicken wire will rust and age when exposed to the elements. Otherwise it looks like a fairly decent helmet Just my thoughts Leigh -

yes fanatic, it is mine. being cut off on u.s. militaria forum i put it here to get more comments. there are no stampings on the ear or neck guards, but there is a date on the liner band which appears to be 1942 0r 43. last number a bit hard to see. it is the wire i am concerned about. -

Further discussion of this helmet was locked in the US Forum due to no provenance to a soldier as a "Bring Back" Spoil of War. The discussion can be continue here. I will add that much better and clearer photos are needed to see any stamps in the rim to properly ID and assess the helmet https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/409901-who-said-there-is-no-more/ Leigh -

Thanks, this is the look I wanted to describe ! Maybe it's just a side note, but let me add that the collar badge is for non-combatant officers. This type is worn by officers in the legal and accounting departments. -
