Just digging around and found this in one of my "boxes." Can't recall where or when I got it, but have had it for years. First blush it looksl like a brit. cap/beret badge, but extensive google searches show at least one other person has ask about this type piece, but seems no one knows on google. Anyone here recognize or can I.D. this thingie? Thanks for looking, best regards, Allen -

A much better, and undisputed read... Sources: https://books.google.com/books?id=pJl3myN1TlsC&pg=PA2&source=kp_read_button&hl=en&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&gboemv=1&ovdme=1#v=onepage&q&f=false https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Murray_(businessman) -

I still use them both frequently at the shop- for obscure questions (what color bayonet knot did Regiment 21 use?) and more common question, plus with the great pics and color plates, just find to look through! -

I know the US used green duck tape or black electric tape for taping mags. But what type of tape did the NVA/Viet Cong use (if it even was tape)? I know I have seen pictures of NVA and Viet Cong soldiers with jungle style AK mags but can't tell what they used to tape the magazine. All the photos I have seen were in black and white so it's a little hard to tell. -

Strongly agree with all that has been said about the reference books. One of my first books when I started collecting as well was the Brian L. Davis German Army book. When I started to focus on other TR areas I also found the 2 Volume set by Brian L Davis on the Luftwaffe.. Uniforms and Insignia of the Luftwaffe 1933-1940 Volume 1 and Uniforms and Insignia of the Luftwaffe 1940-1940 Volume 2. Brian L Davis has written some very good reference books on Third Reich topics and his books are still readily available. Badges and Insignia of the Third Reich by the same author is another very good reference book with various types of insignia from the multitude of Third Reich Organizations... Leigh
