As title suggests, I’m curious on the history and if it was common practice for civilian owned patriotic Hinomaru flags to be signed by a single person. The flag I have in question measures 10x13”. The Kanji writes out to 柄實子 or 楠實子. I believe “實” was old font that predates 1945 (correct me if I’m wrong), from the help of translators it likely spells out the female name Emiko Nakamura. 子 meaning a child, and 柄 meaning a pattern. Harvest pattern or Fruitfulness pattern? -

Nice period original NSDAP Banner. Fabric, roundel, swastika are all consistent with Third Reich (1933-1945) period made flags and banners. I would have no issues having this in a collection Leigh -

Nice jacket, a private commission vest - tailor made. I don’t think the scorpion is a unit patch as it is not in the usual orientation, it looks to me to be a personal identification mark. I have a vest similar to this made for a senior N.C.O. So he had enough ammo when driving a vehicle without having to carry/wear belt order webbing.(I will post pictures soon) -

I have a dealer offering this badge as a replacement for something lost in the mail. As far as I can tell, this is totally bogus as the colors are all wrong. Opinions? -

Greetings - I am a new member with an interest in the Bushwars of Southern Africa. I was given this battle vest as a boy during a visit to then Rhodesia over 40 years ago. I was wondering if anyone can help me identify its provenance? (I have a James North of Salisbury Fireforce Vest which I am selling at present, so am well aware that there where much more sophisticated versions of this privately made vest available). It's clearly based on a Rhodesian Army Bush jacket with pockets/pouches from other items of uniform adapted to the role. Also any thoughts on the hand drawn Scorpion? I think there were vehicles used for convoy security called Scorpions? Any information gratefully received. -

I’m no expert either, but the handle does not seem to fit in the lower cross guard, and the upper cross guard looks unfinished. May be a parts dagger, made up after the war, or perhaps put together from unrelated pieces who knows when.
