wondering how you can tell a fake with these patches.

Buckle looks a little SS to me, but I don't know much about German stuff.

Any shot of the decal? My initial thought is fake. 

I know these helmets are rare in any condition, but I'm hoping someone can educate me on this one.... I'm trying to get better pictures of both decals... But my biggest concern is the heat lot number... Or the markings in general on the helmet... Is it at least a real helmet?.... These are the only pictures I have at the moment. Any and all critiques of it are welcome. Thank you 

A nice, matching L stamped P-38 having said that, neither the gun shop nor I knew what an L stamp was, nor did we notice the stamp while negotiating a sale price… we both just assumed it was a nice Mauser P38 44 dated

I have a feeling it might be the backside.   It is similar to a photo I have seen of an NCO before.   The "legs" of the silver rank star are visible on his epaulettes.

(GERMAN IRON CROSS 1914 1ST CLASS WITH 1939 EAGLE)...... Don't know if it's magnetic or not yet.... Just looking for some opinions on it... I know nothing about these things....thanks
