Unfortunately they were glued to a cardboard for display. i don't want to do any damage trying to get it off. I'm pretty confident there legit. They were from a family friend. Being a noobie to this collecting thing. Its nice to have sources willing to help out and share there knowledge. A lot of people are in the business of scamming you. I almost bought a helmet that was being passed off as an SS Helmet. I sent some pic's to someone I found on the internet that collects Helmets and he sent me this. "This is an M57 West German border guard helmet. Devised in the mid 1950s to resemble the WW2 M40 helmet. Used by Grenzschutz ("Border defense") personel as late as the 1970s. Somebody painted this one black and stuck awful reproduction decals on it." So thank you for your Help. Its very appreciated. Hopefully i can pay it forward down the road. . Jason -

I have no idea where I got this. Would have been around 2016 when I started my German WWII phase. Might have been generously included with a purchase. I’m curious to know how common these “tea” towels are? -

This is a late-war, or post-war Czech or Polish made, A-frame. chatGPT describes it as: German A-frame field pack harness (A-Rahmen), canvas and leather, consistent with late-WWII or immediate postwar manufacture. Shows signs of small-batch or depot-level production, using simplified hardware and mixed materials, adding: If this were a repro, we’d expect neater stitching or more commercial leather — this one shows genuine aging and use. BTW, it smells exactly like my even older WWI US equipment. Chat wasn’t able to nail down whether it was war-time or postwar. I don’t possess books on late-war/post-war German style military equipment. If this looks familiar to someone in-the-know, with references, a more precise identification could be an education for me, and maybe others on the forum. -

That helmet is of Czechoslovakian manufacture. Likely post-war. The decal looks fake. -
