There are much better examples available of both daggers, Pricey, yes, but you may want to consider Quality over Quantity when purchasing high end Third Reich items, or else you will be stuck with a mediocre hard to sell parts daggers or worse... Again just my thoughts Leigh -

Better safe than sorry and as Preppy Picker said, there shouldn't have been a tricolor decal on this later war M42. That alone with a questionable eagle, is enough imo to return it. I'm glad the seller was understanding and refunded you. Single decal LW helmets are pretty common so with patience, you should be able to land a nice, solid example : ) -

Thanks for the info! He is asking too much for the pair at that range so I will have to pass for now! -

Yeah seems a little too good to be true. I wound up returning it for a full refund and thankfully the seller was totally understanding. He doesn’t deal with German items so I don’t blame him for not knowing. -

Agree with Leigh. I think the engraving on the Luft may have been done by the GI or even later. It looks like an electric engraving pencil - very popular in the 1970’s. Too sloppy for a Luftwaffe officer. -

Hello, I'm Sean, and I am happy to be a part of this forum. I have been collecting militaria since a young age but have started to up my game more recently expanding into WW1 and WW2 items. Far from an expert and looking to learn a lot from others. Again, happy to be here!
