Hey everyone! A fellow collector of mine has this patch. I am not good with German patches. He wants to trade for an IJA sergeant jacket I have for this patch. Problem is, I don’t know if this is a really good fake or the real deal. What do y’all think? -

Hello, This picture was found in my Great Uncle's estate. b. 1892 - d. 1980. (My Paternal Grandmother's brother) Their Grandfather was involved in the Swiss Sunderland War of 1847. Is it possible this is him? There were several Cantons at war for about three weeks. My Gr. Uncle was also a WWI Vet, so it's possible this could be 20th Century French? Left arm.patch indicates a bugle - Infantry? Collar unit is "154" -

Diminish? Not at all. I bought this Katana with the understanding it was likely cobbled together. It's a placeholder/ wall hanger. The link you provided has good, solid information in it. Learning curve is definitely high & It will take a lot of time to get a handle on what makes one better than another & how to weed out the counterfeits. -

I hear you Allen, I'm an old fart too, just hit 65, I can remember when beautiful all matched non import mark stamped early war 98ks were a $100.00 to $150.00. One thing that sticks out in my memory is of seeing IJN complete stencil anchor helmets stacked for $50.00 a piece. This was before I started collecting Japanese but everytime I think about it I could kick myself. -

Hi, Does anyone have knowledge about the origin of this medal? It was found in a lot together with other Swedish/German medals dated to 1600-1650. Could it possibly be a German or Swedish medal from the Protestant-Catholic war led by the Swedish King Gustav II Adolf in Germany around 1630-32, for example the Battle of Breitenfeld in 1631? It's made of bronzed led. Size 27 mm. Weight 5,5 g. Thank you for any information! -

Another one of these tampered with SAS wings has popped up for sale on eBay out of France (eBay # 226995733417) so buyer beware (see attached photos). The listed claim of, "Paratrooper Lot SAS Cairo Egypt Tunisia Italy Europe Photos SAS wings WW2" isn't true in regards to the SAS Wing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/226995733417?_skw=parachute+wings&itmmeta=01K6CM62X2BR43CDWZTBPACHW0&hash=item34da0003a9:g:M04AAeSwVplo2mGP&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1fJBEty8Zd%2BpAKf1vyxo58Ur69vff6AWwXWs91zJYuUpD5LmE7co9JB%2F4fPYjeLXlgzgw8IkxgC2B1LCmV%2Bmmwdr%2BUZeQ6eLFKtOQVY7EnSsjFpOGkVkcO32ehvdCbwpdJwqZ9rv68slxxMqraFXJl62LtLtlLixTnKCfCiaysf0yQ02LsSipzL0OFE0I5L4wzYvuTUsF73cm%2BvxuLWnCqqtNYDeL3SvNhuSWtgxKPYERl%2FZ8BwzlvtDeslDHb%2FVPhb4zbZ%2FZJ8%2BHREhmdoGXJgWzWm2cmy6wli%2FU3V6Psn9w%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR9yumJSzZg -
