  Just bought this off eBay. Being a retired US Navy boatswain mate I started collecting vintage boatswain pipes from any navy. Don't see these often so had to have it. Not the best condition but cheaper than one I saw for sale in a search about these. Guess they were made of brass and plated to look silver.

  Wow, those are really nice! I thought this was kinda cool, they look like they’ve been on here a long time. Kinda makes you wonder. One of the notches resembles a “7” but it isn’t. It’s just where the wood chipped when the notch was carved.

  Standard Chinese PLA issue pith, I believe designated the Type 58 although I'm a little confused on that. Not used by the Vietnamese PAVN.
