I have acquired this bren and had it in my collection for a small while. I was just wondering if anyone has some more independent knowledge about it and any information about my specific one. Also rarity based on serial numbers and what not. Thanks martin

The Antique Fair runs twice a year, and they sell C&R type firearms.  However, there are no prohibitions other than what the fair management sets for private sales.  At gun shows venders sell firearms either privately, or if they are an FFL, with a background check.  The show managers only require that you follow the state laws. For example, the folks running the State Flea market don't allow the sale of firearms.  Just depends upon the people in charge.

I found this at an antique center in the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania.  I believe it dates from the mid 60's.

Unfortunately, I think he(= oberleutnant Wentzke) wears ordinary camouflage.

Navy helmet decals also have sort of a separate layer in them, so you can see a "drop shadow" of the gold overlay.  Great helmet though!

I don't believe that's a  Kriegsmarine eagle because if you look at the yellowing on the tricolor shield  it's the same. the kriegsmarine helmet I have the eagle is a more golden not a yellowish eagle

Same in Ohio. Elections have consequences.

Here in Alabama you can go to flea market or gun show and pay cash and walk out with it.

Very cool, I like these, not sure why. So at an antique fair in North Carolina are you able to take this home the same day? Here in The Republik of Washington state you need to wait 10 business days. Thanks for posting.

Just picked this up at an Antique Fair, still learning some things about it.  Shows some issues that are typically caused by someone trying to open the side plate without understanding you have to release the trigger guard to unlock the stud holding the side plate closed.  Otherwise, works fine, clean bore, good lockup, ejector works fine.
