Another picture from Pinterest. Obviously a very high ranking French officer, general perhaps. I spy a US DSC next to the British OBE. Whom could it be? -

From my Japanese point of view, it seems to be related to China. -

Thought a German made RAF-style cap made for the Dutch Air Force was kind of neat. I suspect 1960s as the maker’s mark looks like Bundeswehr caps of that period. Any other information appreciated! -

So I got this in a grouping years ago. The guy was in the CBI. I was wondering if this is a souvenir and if you can tell what it is made of. I don't think its bone but I don't know if it may be ivory or plastic. The characters look Chinese to me but maybe you all know better. The blade is just skosh over 12 inches and I think it may be from a broken sword but I'm just guessing. Thanks for any info . Also looks as if there was something on the ends but was gone long ago. They are close, and you are right about the use of it in the 1930s as a "Traditions" flag, those were generally made out of wool and usually had a distinct black dashed border to the hoist. Real WWI are very rare, even the 1930s ones are hard to find. -
