Hi:  I picked this M33 helmet up at a show last month.  The seller didn't know it was Italian...he thought another country.  The 8-finger liner and chin strap aren't perfect but I liked it. There are numbers stamped on the rear edge.  I’m thinking WW2 period….right?  Comments?

I can't even pin down what Army this is. Check out the Helmets, not only the ones their wearing, the one with the Cap on, the German looking ones seem off too, not to mention the scalloped rimmed one, which at first we thought were M18 Cut outs, but clearly are not. The first country I thought was these must be Bulgarians, but nothing looking like the helmets or the uniforms.   Your thought please.

I got this helmet long ago and i was curious if the decal was real, i am aware it is hard to tell if they are or not. i got it from a trust worthy website in b and b militaria, so its probably real I just need some relief on it.

Purchased a group of Japanese flags today and I think this was the best one.  Using Google lens it appears the name of the veteran is in the upper right?  Lots of names at the bottom and left.  Beautiful artwork also.  Would this have been a wartime flag or a post war souvenir?  Thanks for any help in advance. Vets name? A few others in the lot.  The other flag with writing feels like cotton.  Please forgive me if it’s not right side up.

A fellow work mate asked if I wanted a couple of German pins that he had in his possession for years. Of course I said , sure. He brought me these stick pins. Are they just lapel pins? Heer? or with the tarnished gold tone, Kreigsmarine. Input would be great as I still owe him for them.

(2nd attempt) So, maybe 3-ish years ago  I purchased this SS shield patch. Supposedly that of Italian 29th Waffen-SS Grenadier division, an SS division made of German aligned Italians formed after the 1943 Italian armistice.   Recently they've become common on the market. From what I've seen/read online, apparently it was patch that was designed and made late in the war, but never issued? A large stock was found, and they have since been selling on the collector's market. I've never seen any pictures of them worn by the men of division. I don't recall how much I paid for it, but it wasn't super expensive... If it was I probably would have remembered.   Anyone here have any more concrete information on these patches? wool/felt & cotton construction? It doesn't glow under a blacklight. (I know that's far from foolproof)

First post here on WMF, long time member over at USMF. Just wanted to share this grouping I ended up purchasing from goodwill. Was a rather large lot Special force insignia, patches and flashes that was poorly photographed. Lot came in, and hidden in everything were these wings. Had no idea what they were and had come here to learn more. Surprised to say the least! Ended up selling everything but kept some photos for my personal reference. Thought they could be used and appreciated here. There was a total of seven numbered wings along with other Rhodesian and SAS insignia. Unfortunately none of the numbered wings were low enough to have been issued. Still a great little score for $300.  This was the mentioned grouping that everything came in. You never know where incredible things will show up.

That’s a great collection. Norwegian militaria is something I know nothing about but I love to learn about new things.  I also love the picture of your dog wearing that hat.  mikie
