Cross posted from USMF sister site. Maybe folks here can Help ID A pack worn by the US Soldier in this photo from The Battle of The Hurtgen Forest? I don't know if it might be a german "Tornister" pack he might have picked up. It looks kinda like one but seems different. Camouflage Paint Job and All. U.S. M3 T48 GMC, equipped with the M1 57 mm antitank gun, it fell into German hands in 1944, the 72nd Infantry Division (See Yellow Cross Divisional Symbol). Other Markings Gr.R.105 is for Grenadier Regiment 105, 14 Company, the regimental anti tank company and the Capital K is for the 1st Panzer Army, K being the original symbol when this Army was Panzer Group Kleist, with this K retained after it was retiled. This vehicle is from April 1945 in Czechoslovakia. The Soviets renamed this one, as the SU 57. -
