A Grab from the 1968 Bob Hope Christmas Show, sees a New Zealand Soldier in attendance, I think Long Binh and is assigned to some unit or detachment in the area Saigon. Long Binh,/Bien Hoa. I say this cause New Zealanders along with the Aussies are down south in Phước Tuy P, i.e. Vung Tau, Nui Dat etc, a region that Mr Hope and Company did not pay visit to. What struck me is he's not wearing New Zealand's traditional Lemon Point to his cap, but in the Australian Manner. -

Hello everybody, Before you say anything, yes I know this is farb. With my budget, pretty much any impression I make is farb. This is my NVA impression so far. I'm wearing an Ecuadorian farmer's hat because I don't have a pith helmet yet and this is the best thing I have. I have a canteen, but I haven't seen it in months and can't find it. This is just a basic impression so far for short films that I make with my friends. Not for reenactments. Let me know what you think! Wade -

Yes, it is a Swiss Army cap that was intended for the 1974 combat uniform (Gebirgsmütze zu Kampfanzug 74), but was later issued to all Swiss soldiers for winter wear. I wore a cap like this myself in the military. It was introduced into the army in 1974 and manufactured to order in 1975/76 (bottom right in the picture); the number 59 indicates the size. -

With all that white Waffenfarbe I would bet this is an Infantry supply depot. -

I do not like it. I don’t believe Junker ever used that type of pin & catch. Look at this Junker. -

It's fun to try and spot this stuff. I while back I was watching a movie and I was paying more attention to the jungle boots one actor was wearing.😆 -
