Thanks, my canteen is the same but for the carrier. The cap has a cord riveted to it while the other end of the cord is sewn into the carrier.    

Based on the images I am seeing now (Thank you patches) I don't see any glaring red flags..But I will do some more research...   I will say it was cut a bit off centered as there appears to be more of the blue material at the top and less around the bottom as well as the left wing (as you look at it)..   A blacklight may also be helpful to see if it glows...    Leigh

I too am not a fan of the sword. This appears to be a Chinese Copy in my humble opinion. Truth be told when it is taken apart to see all parts of the blade... Not a fan of those stamping marks on the brass habaki (ferrule). Looks like it was in a vice or pliers...    Leigh   

Right now my main to-do list for this is to get a riser for the 2nd case and get an east german AK74 bayonet to go with the AKM bayonet.

Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it. I always tread lightly with the SS stuff.... This is a local collector who has it and I believe he got it from Poland.... And I already know about the tomfoolery with the stuff that comes out of Poland...lol next time I'm over at his house I will look at it real close with a magnifying glass just out of curiosity.....
