Having never seen one of these and not finding any information on the Internet concerning these types of berets I took a chance buying this but it came from a forum member on another site whom I trust. Has anyone seen another?

There doesn't seem to be anything special about the beret badge

The only information I could find about WW2 Australian coast watcher berets was this single 1942 black and white photograph of one being worn by Australian Coast Watcher James Burrowes.

Very nice beret though not exclusively for coast watchers. These were most commonly worn by armored personnel along with commandos. My great uncle wore one with 2/10th armoured.
