This is a WW2 period shoulder title worn by Canadian Volunteers who went to Great Britain to assist in firefighting services. A total of 422 volunteers would serve in what became the Corps of Canadian Firefighters. Arriving in Great Britain in May of 1942 they would be engaged in firefighting as well as rescue duties

 

The Corps would man 6 stations in England with London being their HQ. In addition to other stations located at Southhampton, Portsmouth, Plymouth and Bristol. They would serve approximately 2 1/2" years overseas. In that time period 3 firefighters would give their lives as well three others being seriously injured.
