Here is an Australian uniform brought back from Iraq as a souvenir by a US Soldier. I don't know what the Aussies call this type of uniform, is it a Battle Dress Uniform?

The uniform is known as DPCU - Disruptive Pattern Combat Uniform and is in the 'Auscam' camouflage as stated before.  Yours dates from the early 1990s,  There were slight changes in both the camo pattern and the cut during its evolution, aside from the usual variations due to different contracted manufacturers.  The wide brimmed bush hats came into being due to the harsh Australian sun and the need for WHS.  These were not popular for a variety of reasons and soldiers still private purchased shorter brimmed bush hats or sought out the earlier issued short brim versions.  They never had a press stud on the side to turn the brim up - that was only for the parade only slouch hat (or Hat KFF).  The nationality marker, the 'Rising Sun' on brown, is known as the 'Biscuit', colloqially named after the ANZAC biscuits of WWI.  In the mid-90s these were changed from brown to Auscam.  Auscam soldiered on into the mid-2010s when it was replaced by the Australian Multicam pattern and uniforms became known the Australian Multicam Combat Uniform - AMCU
