November 27, 20187 yr #3 Very nice bullion cap devices, and (as a button collector, including some British) I like the button. I was curious about the G.M.&S. backmark. I checked my books (I have two books on military button backmarks), only one had this one listed, but did not say (I guess he didn't know either) what the letters stood for, i.e. who the maker was. Just listed this as a UK backmark used in the "Twentieth century". Also checked a few websites I know that list some British backmarks, but no luck. Thanks for posting.
November 27, 20187 yr Author #4 'dag', Thanks for the information on the backmark. I have no addition information on the items. Here is another button related to this group. It is for the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. The backmark is - Jennens & Co Ltd London I have some other buttons that I have not yet identified. I'll see if any are backmarked with the G.M.&S. logo.
