Holster help = Spanish Astra

Is this holster military or civilian also what time period. The stitch pattern is oval rather than straight. The only marking I can find is on the inside flap but it is so worn that I am not sure what it is. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

David

Your holster is for a Spanish Astra Model 600 pistol. I can't tell if it is wartime or postwar from the photos but I suspect it is postwar without seeing any markings.

Here is an example for one such pistol that was made during the war for the Germans but was un-delivered because of the Allied invasion of France. It was later delivered out of factory storage to the German Police of Niedersachsen in the immediate postwar period.

I hope this is helpful.

One last question, if it were wartime what markings might be on it and where.

Some holsters have the serial number under the flap. The serial number would determine the date of manufacture.
