Does anyone know what this 37th Batt. C.E.F. 1270 brass tag is? The other side is blank. Thanks.

The 37th Battalion (Northern Ontario), CEF, was an infantry battalion of theCanadian Expeditionary Force during the Great War. ... The 37th battalion had one Officer Commanding, Lt-Col. C.F. Bick from 28 November 1915 to 6 July 1916. The37th Battalion was awarded the battle honour THE GREAT WAR 1915-16.

 

It is an equipment tag of some sort.
