I can tell you its commonwealth and (merchant?) navy from the black backing, its pre52 and for a peaked cap (officers or navy equivalent of snco) likely to be for a shipping company but which one I cant say at the moment not really to knowledgeable on the navy

Thanks for the reply. I saw something similar the other day somewhere on the web, but I didn't have this out till today and didn't note where I saw it. I knew it was a Kings Crown, but looks Post WW II.
