Hello collectors!

This is not my area at all!

But could use some help on any info about soldier!

I thought this group was neat with medls and box with shipping wrap!

Surprised paper held up

Any info would be of help!

I know nothing special in valor medals or such! I wish!

When did they send out medals!

Thanks

PVON

Those are a nice medal pair and it is nice to see them in the original shipping box. Believe it or not, the British medal shipping boxes are much more common than the US WWI Victory medal boxes. Your soldier was a member of the Durham Light Infantry. You can google the regiment to learn more about their service in the Great War.

Thank you for sharing your find.

Always nice to have the original boxes! An nice pairing for sure! Medals were sent out starting around 1921 or so IIRC.

Here is his Medal Roll entry. You now know that he was with both the 11th DLI and 2nd DLI battalions. I used to pay researchers back in the day to find this stuff, hehehehehe......

Very cool. WWI Brit medals have been a bad habit of mine lately... They Shall Not Grow Old kinda made take a look around...
