this pistol was made for Luigi Amedo di Savoia. The Duke of Abruzzi. He was a explorer, senator and Admiral of the Royal Navy.

The 1923 was chambered in 9 m.m. Gslenti. Frame, slide, barrel and extractor are engraved and gold plated. Trigger, hammer, safety, ect. are blued. Grips are ebony wood. Rich A. in Pa.

Very interesting pistol and history. What is the medallion on the grips? Can you show the other side? Why is it shown with the slide locked to the rear? Is there a back story on the souvenir?

Thanks for posting such a unique item!

B.K., Other side. The thing on the grip is the initials of the owner and the Kings crown of the Savoia family showing that he is part of the Royal Family. I did the pic to show more of the finish. I got it from a Union of South Africa W.W.2 vet.

Tony,Thanks. Rich A. in Pa.
