Just love those beautiful ugly rifles. The stock to the muzzle always gets me. I used to have a 1916 BSA. Sold it with my collection in 1982 to finance my move to California. I should have sold a kidney instead. Yours is great. Thanks!

That is the maker of the scabbard, the "42" is the year.

Yes, Mangroivite is stamped in the scabbard (Australian). Thanks for viewing...and they do have a face only a mother could love.

Some years back there was a supply of Aussie MKIII s on the market . They had been imported by IOVINO in NY among others . Many were made from parts'

 

But some looking revealed that complete original rifles were also to be had . You have a fine original gun from what I can see Very nice !
