My Grandmother gave me this Royal Bavarian Army Discharge in 1978. I think it was for my Greatx3 Grandfather.

The dates on it include 1811, 1833 and 1839. Probably date of birth, and beginning to end of his service.

I was told that the boxed section to the left contains his physical description.

A kind lady on the Gini Ancestry site dug up this history for me.   He indeed is my third great grand father.

Below is a photo of my third great grandmother Margaretta Herpich (sitting), second great grandmother Henriette Schmidt back left, and my great grandmother Kate Rode back right.  My grandmother gave me this photo around the same time as the discharge paper.   She never knew there connection.
