April 8, 20197 yr #1 I have a medal that says Ludwig II Koenig V. Bayern on one side and has the dates : 28.8.184513.6.1886 along with some script writing on the other. It has a red ribbon also. Seems to be made of silver. This site says the pic is too big to load. Can anyone identify this medal?
April 8, 20197 yr #2 PM me your E-Mail and I will send you mine to send your photo to. I will post it if I can't ID it... -Ski
April 8, 20197 yr #4 I think this is the medal you are talking about (scroll down a bit): https://www.ebay.de/itm/Orden-Medaille-Ludwig-II-Koenig-v-Bayern-1845-1886-am-Band-/183751913601?nma=true&si=pncMNdJNRUoiyWS0xdiRsAD4Uqk%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
April 8, 20197 yr #5 Yeah it is the same medal. I think it is simply a commemoration medal of his death. Here are shots of it. -Ski
April 9, 20197 yr Author #7 Thanks for the information, I was told that it is silver also. Would this be true?
April 12, 20197 yr #8 That medal is just a modern piece of "metal". About ten years ago if my memory is working some wine distributor had these tied around the bottle necks. I doubt that it is silver. I was wondering how long it would take for this one to start haunting the collecting world.
