April 10, 20197 yr #1 1 I always liked police stuff! I showed some beautiful shako;s in head gear section! Who has something to show! PVON
April 11, 20197 yr #5 Since you have shown an orange piped Gendarmerie tunic and a green piped Schutzpolizei tunic I will show a wine piped Gemindepolizei tunic. While the Gendarmerie policed the rural areas and the SCHUPO policed the cities, the GEMPO were tasked with policing small towns. This fellow was a Gemeindepolizei Obermeister as evidenced by the single pip seen on his Meister shoulder board.
April 12, 20197 yr #8 Pvon, It has a fine wool twill body cut in the "Rock" style with a four panel back with a box tail. Tailor made with functional cuffs. A scarce early rank.
April 14, 20197 yr #9 Here is an example of a carmine piped Fire Police (Feuerschutzpolizei) tunic. This is the 1942 dated style of Feuerschutzpolizei (FSP) tunic with black color collar and cuffs. It should be noted that FSP, indeed all Fire Department (FW), carmine color piping will normally react to black light and this is correct for this WWII time period uniform piping.
April 15, 20197 yr #11 This FSP tunic is the predecessor of the active duty Polizei field tunic with police green collar and cuffs. It has removable shoulder boards and adjustable aluminum belt hooks on straps in the side seams. It also has fully functional cuffs that are adjustable with buttons. Notice your Schupo tunic and my Gempo tunic do not have belt ramps or removable shoulder boards. One of the Knotel uniform plates showing the Feuerschutzpolizei.
April 16, 20197 yr #12 So, this is a Bavarian Volunteer Fire Department uniform from Winkl. The Freiwillige Feuerwehr (FFW) wore Prussian blue tunics with bright carmine piping and insignia. This fellow was a Senior NCO (Meister) and his insignia is black and carmine indicating the FFW. Notice that he wears an early belt with cross strap and a blackened Polizei buckle. He also has a FW sleeve eagle with a place name as is proper for an early uniform. This tunic is cut in the same manner as the green professional FSP uniform but is rendered in blue cloth.
April 16, 20197 yr #13 This is a Prussian Freiwillige Feuerwehr (FFW) tunic exactly as shown in the Knotel uniform card shown above. Notice this NCO tunic has French Cuffs unlike the Winkl tunic cut in the M 1936 style shown above. This tunic has blank carmine collar tabs without LItzen unlike the M 1936 style shown above. This tunic also has carmine colored NCO shoulder boards without the black inner cords unlike the M 1936 style shown above. This tunic is shown with a cloth Feuerwehr equipment belt instead of a black leather Polizei style belt. This belt is made of black and carmine woven cloth and has two straps and buckles as fasteners.
April 18, 20197 yr #14 Here is an example of the Model 1936 Nationalilzed Police uniform for the Verwaltungspolizei (VWP). The post-1936 tunic is police green with brown collar and cuffs like the Gendarmerie, Schupo. and Gempo tunics shown above. This VWP Officer tunic has grey piping and collar tabs and shoulder boards (with red Nebenfarbe). The red Nebenfarbe was later done away with during the war. The Verwaltungspolizei were the Administrative Police and typically Beamte or Civil Servants. Notice the Adjutant shoulder cords worn by this Captain.
