SS Collar & Eagle patches, real or what?

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I have had these patches for years and never really knew if they are originals or reproductions. These were flea market pick ups a long time ago. When it comes to TR stuff I can identify what it is, but I am at a loss as to deciding if its real or a repro.

I would like to get your observations and opinions. I appreciate your help and thank you in advance.

Thanks

Dennis

I'm sorry to say but both pairs of collar tabs are bad and so is the bevo sleeve eagle. The bullion sleeve eagle is out of my expertise so I cant comment on it.

Thanks John, I figured they were bad but just wanted to run them past more knowledgeable collectors.

The bullion eagle looks typical of what you see coming out of Pakistan.

Just confirming what my colleagues have already said. These items have been fooling people since the 1960s and will sadly continue to do so.

I think there were more of those sleeve eagles sold than the SS actually used...

Jerry, I agree with you, I have always thought there was more TR stuff produced after the war than during the war, which is why I have stayed away from it all. Thank you all for your help and helping learn about this stuff.
