That's what I thought as well. I only have a little knowledge of TR chevrons. I know enlisted are thicker, there are "old fighter" ones as well. What branch would these be, Army? And what do they signify? I am missing Angolia's Uniforms and Traditions Vol 1, I have Vol 2 and 3, but they are buried some where.

From what I can find via eBay I believe this is the rank of Gefreiter

These are German Army chevrons for the rank of gefreiter, or roughly, private first class.  Normally found sewn to a triangular piece of cloth, but not always.  The label says "gesetzt geschütz", which means "protected by law", which is a copyright/trademark legal notice generally seen on Third Reich badges as "Ges.Gesch."  These chevrons were likely intended for the herringbone twill (HBT) uniform and are very common.  On the market, they sell for about $20 each.
