Here is, what used to be, my 1868 Chinese Maritime Custom officer’s sword with a 32 inch double-edged fullered blade in the “claymore” style etched with foliage and an anchor and dragon. It has a brass 'gothic' hilt and dragon's head pommel with a wire-bound shagreen-covered grip. No scabbard. Here also is a picture from “Swords for Sea Service” with the identification and a drawing of the original design. This, unfortunately, is a photograph of a sword I no longer own. I had to sell this during a divorce (along with my 1966 Mustang.)

A very neat sword. It looks like a proof slug on the ricasso. Was there a maker on the blade as well?
