a navy belgian helmet, model 1951

marks : ASW : for arm technician, specialist for anti-submarine armament

marks : 4 : position of the marine on the boat

this helmet was used on the belgian fregate E71 from the 70's to the 90's

1963 Belgian Gendarmarie helmet & liner (US M-1 euro clone). The Gendarmerie (French) or Rijkswacht (Dutch) was the former paramilitary police force of Belgium. This helmet was manufactured by the Belgian company UMAL (Usine Métallurgique Aluminium et Métaux Légers.) The steel is dark blue with a dark blue chinstrap and the liner is a light baby blue with Belgian flag.
