I regularly find Soviet WWII medals for sale on eBay but from the sheer quantity that seem to come up -- and I know the Soviet Army was huge -- I find myself suspicious about them.

 

Experience or reliable source of such?

I don't know of any repro Soviet stuff except the higher awards. There was such a flood of this stuff as the Soviets gave out medals by the millions, especially the WWII commemorative ones. There is no value in reproducing them......

Alas, the better WWII medals are indeed faked, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the more common stuff is now too.
