Are the pins for the liner also repro? They dont match the patch. Paint looks fine probably overpainted at one time.

The pins are not correct. Could you explain over paint? It has heavy paint brush marks on it.

Looking over some of the pics you have shown here. Leary of the paint in pitted/chipped areas.

As to brush marks. Soldiers used brushes to add subdued or camouflage paint to helmets. Sometimes even just a rag dipped in paint and wiped over. Good question, one I got an answer from my dad when I asked this same question decades ago.
