DDR Navy Officer Dagger

This is a standard DDR Navy Officer dagger. These gilt daggers were identical to the Army and Air Force daggers except those daggers had silver (white) metal fittings and a white grip whereas the Navy dagger had gilt fittings and a yellow plastic grip. The chrome plated blades were made in typical German Naval style with a narrow dirk shape having two narrow fullers on both sides. The dagger has a push button latch to secure it inside the metal scabbard. The scabbard is suspended from a typical German style dagger hanger consisting of two gold colored straps with gilt fittings. This is a late East German dagger and has no maker on the blade and a single buckle adjustment hole in the straps.
