November 20, 20196 yr #1 Hello, a friend of mine picked up this pin, which I think is Chinese and I am looking for information on the item. Any help will be appreciated. 77th Inf. Div.
November 21, 20196 yr #3 77th Inf. Div.,, The large kanji front is the word for "prize" or "award" on the double cherry blossom. The navy used the double cherry blossom emblem on post 1942 sleeve insignia for advanced training...however, I doubt this is military. On the wing of the kite (right to left) I can see the words "All Japan".........:East" ........I can't enlarge the pic to get much more than that and my Japanese is limited. The back picture is far too small. I think it may be a pin for an organization or for the completion of training or school ? There was a Japanese women's organization during the war that wore a patch very similar to this emblem but I can't be sure if this is the same thing. Sorry, not much help. tiger41
