Afghan desert tiger stripe uniform with a Blinkley tag in the jacket. Most likely worn by the National Directorate of Security.

Interesting uniform and I would image rather scarce. I hope you don't mind but I was wondering what information you have regarding the True Spec made Desert Tan Tiger Stripe uniforms possibly worn overseas by USN Seals? I took a chance on this Desert Tan Tiger Stripe uniform which unfortunately had the name tape removed and the seller had no background information whats so ever. It has that worn look with sunken insignia into the material after repeated washings and the folding of the long sleeves into short sleeves looked right but I don't know for sure. For all I know it could have been worn by some reenactor or paintballer. It was being sold with a second all tan uniform with the same insignia sewn in the same manner where the Trident was not trimmed and folded over into a compact rectangle but followed the length of the USN tape. Do you know if Seals wore this type of uniform in Afghanistan or Iraq during the war?

Nice jacket, I was interested and did some searching about the maker. Tarsian and Blinkley was founded in Kabul in 2003 by Kurdish-American Sarah Takesh. It made both designer fashion items and Afghan uniforms under US Government contracts. It lost it US contracts to make Afghan uniforms in 2013 because it used non-US made materials and an exemption in a US LAW requiring manufacturers to use US made materials ended.

NSW also used modified Tru-Spec DCUs, I am not sure if they were modified by Tru-Spec or anyone else.

Thanks for posting the information, Cap. I had heard that they had lost the contract due to them using non-US material and I wonder if this specific uniform run may have been what ended the US contract because this fabric is almost guaranteed to be Chinese sourced.
