Original photo of a Japanese soldier. There is some Kanji on the back which translates to the following.

 

九月六日寫ス = taken on September 6th (no year given)

 

陸軍上等兵 = Army Private First Class

 

The soldier’s name: 室永 (Muronaga) = surname 由濤 (Yuutou) = given name
