November 8, 20241 yr #6 Roger James Bender April 23, 1940-January 10, 2020 Resident of San Jose, CA Roger was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Pauline, his son Scott James and his loving wife Ruth. Roger is survived by his sister Marilyn and blended family. Children include Stephanie Bender and Jeff Bender (Deb) and their children: Janie, Ian and Clare; step-family Roger Miles and his sons Geoffrey, Christopher, Brenda Miles, Pamela Miles, Nancy Miles and her son Blake. Roger had a full and exciting life. Born in Mandan, North Dakota he served in the Army National Guard and developed a passion for military history creating a publishing business, RJ Bender Publishing. He worked with numerous authors across the world developing broad and deep friendships. He will be missed. Flowers may be sent to Darling & Fischer, 471 E. Santa Clara St., San Jose on January 23, 2020 or to Santa Teresa Church, 794 Calero Ave., San Jose before 9 am on January 24, 2020. Funeral Mass will be at 11am, January 24, 2020.
