A post March 1934 photo with the new Tricolor Shield, I think they are from the 13th Infantry Regiment,  13. (Württembergisches) Infanterie-Regiment, so now they no longer wear their old State Shield but the new National one.

This has to be a very early RW Cavalryman, looks like it was taken in the unit's Arms Room.  The unit, can't really make out the numbers on his shoulder straps, maybe 13, Reiter-Regiment 13???. Did see that the Cavalry Regiments of the RW took traditions from the former Regiments, in this case as he's wearing the Ulan uniform, perhaps Hannoversches Königs-Ulanen-Regiment Nr. 13. Great photo, see the Racks of Sabres behind him and the Artillery Luger with Butt stock he's handling.

Wearing now the NSDAP Insignia, but still called the Reichswehr, it's in March 1935 when the Wehrmacht is proclaimed. The Bike is a Victoria KR 35 WH Pionier, don't think it seen much use after the 30s no?

I'm leaning to this as being an Officer of one of the Anhalt Units of the Reichswehr, possibly 12. Infanterie-Regiment

Question about the correct side for the national colors (tri-color shield) to be painted on:  Post #1 shows an example where it is painted on the right side of the helmet.  Post #13 shows them on the left side.  There is one shown on the WAF on the right side.  So, are the two shown examples on the right side bad and that this shield was only painted on the left side?  Do we know this?

I for one don't know the explanation for this, an anomaly. As seen in  several photos the new Tri-Color Shield was by regulation put on the left side of the helmet.

Two local Sorbian women in one of their Folk Costumes in Lübben in The Spreewald in Prussia with the troops, getting indication these are from the 9th Infantry's replacement battalion, the Regiment itself being in Potsdam by Berlin, early November 1931.
