Here are my questions concerning this uniform. Please see the included  pictures.

I have been searching for a family member for awhile now and could really use some help in identifying what military country and branch that he was with. Here is all of the info that I have about him-in1956, he was on the Chaumont Military Base near Paris, France and was possibly assigned to the 48th fighter wing. And here is a picture of him on the base  in his uniform. Any help would be great. And thank you in advance.

Here is also a colorized picture, but I am unsure if it is true to it's colors. Could be brown, navy, etc. But there is a diamond shaped insignia on his arm and his cap has a lighter colored inset. Again, any help would be great. I am also including the entire pic that I have. Thank you again.
