I have this piece of a crest. Anyone recognize what it is or what part it is from?   

 

It's upside down.

 

 

And will be the Helmwappen for a Bavarian Helmet,a Raupenhelm 1840s I guess till such a time Bavaria adopts the Picklehaube, the design is for King Ludwig.

Well, thats good to know. However, I just sold it on ebay as an unknown mixed lot
