Just arrived today from a local auction. Military version of the KCB. I’m excited to add it to my British orders collection. I’m partial to the beauty and workman’s in this star. Now just need another neck order and case. 
Based on the gold pin does anyone have opinion on period? No marking I could find.

Upon further review allow me to correct myself again, I need to pay closer attention. This is the civil version of the KC Star. The military version is the same with the addition of the blue enamel scroll with ICH DIEN. This being without that scroll signifies the civil version. My apologies for muddying the waters.
