September 27, 20241 yr #14 Really interesting items. Anecdotally, I once worked with a former South African Special Forces soldier who fought for years in the Bush War. For his then current job he had to take an oral test. The test giver asked if he had ever killed anyone (think criminally). My then colleague said 'yes'. This answer startled the test giver. And the test giver said 'who?'. And my e-colleague said, 'I have no idea' which perplexed the test giver. He then told the test giver he fought in the Bush War for about 4 years and killed hundreds and he himself had been shot multiple times on multiple occasions. The test giver was at a loss for words from what I heard at the time.
