Unusual painted helmet-help ID'ing

New guy here. my knowledge of WW2 German helmets is limited. Would appreciate any help with the paint on this and also ID'ing the decal remnants. Was picked up in Norway by a Idaho Air Guard member when he was deployed there in the 70's. Also appears to have a shrapnel strike on the underside of the left front brim.
