I got this totenkopf a while ago (about 10 years), and have dismissed it as an older reproduction since (the eye sockets and nasal cavity are too large in my opinion).

While going through the collection I found it again, and I would like to have my suspicions confirmed before I throw it back in the junk drawer.

Although it shows some wear, this could very well have been artificially done or perhaps through reenactment use.

The insignia is thin and appears to be silver plated copper. The only marking I could find is the "Ges Gesch" (copyright/ trademark).

Looks pretty cool, but I couldn’t tell you if it is original.

If it turns out to be a repop, let me know if you would like to part with it, I have a repro hat I could put it on that I use for militaria displays
